Self portraits
a portrait that an artist produces of themselves
A self-portrait is a representation of an artist that is drawn, painted, photographed, or sculpted by that artist
What is a self portrait?
A selfie is a smaller branch of self-portraiture—quick and less considered. A self-portrait considers the interiority of the artist; it's a moment for self-reflection, to pause and to look at yourself. Photography.

Why did you choose this photo?
I chose this photo because its not like a self portrait you would see regularly. This is a self-portrait by Samuel Cooper
wash, 18th century, based on a work of 1600s.
What does selfie mean?
a photograph that one has taken of oneself, typically one taken with a smartphone or webcam and shared via social media.Selfies are intimate because they represent a personal experience that is also social, taken for the express purpose of sharing. This gives selfies a level of self-conscious authenticity that is different from even a candid photograph—they are more raw and less perfect.
Why has taken selfies become so popular?
According to psychology lecturer Dr. Terri Apter, it is a definition of self. She states that “[people] like being sort of in control of [their] image and getting attention, being noticed, [and] being part of the culture.” We as a society enjoy being in control of every aspect of our lives, so why not control the picture we appear in by taking them ourselves? Self portraits are how we define ourselves, and rather than allow someone else to do that for us, we take charge.

I chose this selfie because it was out of the ordinary and not like your typical selfie that everyone takes nowadays. This was made by Ollie Hayward, The Gayngel 2. This is my favourite selfie because its not taken like a normal selfie where it is taken from the bottom of the face to the top.

The Assessment
In each photograph I can see a contrast of elements and features in the picture. In photograph one this is like a dark and eerie shadow which is taking the photo. Kenneth
WWW; I think I have done really well contrasting the colours and features of the picture. Another good point abut my photos is they all have different sorts of features like people, nature ,litter and paintings that people have made. Lastly I really like this colours and dimensions the picture gives off to people.
EBI; The things I could improve on is the focus and the light direction as some photos have a lack of focus and has come out not very focused. Another thing I could improve on is the contrasting maybe I could find one subject to focus on and try find photos that link to them.

This is my favourite photo because its capturing a photo inside a photo. One feature that I like about this photo is how I have caught someone taking a photo but also added it into my own photo. I could improve this photo by maybe moving the frame out a bit more so you can see the whole image and not leave I as cropped.
I like this photo because it has an eerie affect as all you can see is my cross.I could improve on this by trying to make my face more clearer so you can see what actually is happening.
